Two Months Old Today

Today is January 29th, which means that Corinne is two months old.  Here is a photo taken today to document the occasion.  (I'm pretty impressed with myself that I not only remembered to take the photo today but also managed to download it to my computer, edit it and upload it to this blog post, and all before the end of the day--that is a lot of effort on my part, so you should be impressed too!)  Corinney, as we like to call her, is a little sweetie!  She wakes up from her naps in a cute little mood--this is her favorite time to be tickled and cuddled.  She has a cute little crooked smile.  There is not a ton to report since she is only two months.  She rolled over for the first time (tummy to back) at 3 weeks old.  She didn't perform this trick again until 6 weeks of age but now she does it consistently and usually several times in a row.

Bathtime Babe

Last week we were giving Corinne her bi-weekly bath (note: Jude is 2 years old now and I can't think of a time in his life where we have even once neglected his nightly bath), and I realized that we had not yet taken a photo of her in the bath tub.  Seven weeks old and not one photo!  I think we took a photo of Jude every single time he was in the bath tub from day 1 up until he was about 4 months old.  So much changes with the second.  If I had enough time to think about this, I'd probably feel guilty, but time is one thing I don't have much of right now!  I hope that when Corinne is older and looks back at photos and sees the ba-zillion photos of her brother and few sweet shots of herself that she will realize that what we lacked in photos, she gained in having two more experienced parents who were less anxious and more comfortable caring for her.  There are pro's and con's to all of the positions in the birth order, I suppose.  :)

Jude's Birthday Party

We celebrated Jude's birthday with a few of his little friends last Sunday at a local recreation center.  It was a cold day outside (a rare occasion for this winter) so a perfect day for the kiddos to play in the soft playroom at the rec center and have pizza and cupcakes to follow.  Jude had a great time!

The After Party:  Jude may have had the best fun of the day after crashing for his nap.  We FINALLY allowed him to play with his party balloons!

Jude turns 2!

Jude turned 2 on Sunday, January 15th.  We had a small celebration with family and will have a birthday party with some friends of his next Sunday.  Jude seemed to LOVE the fact that the day was entirely focused on him.  He woke up to the movie Cars and his new bus pop-up tent that he got for his birthday.  Grandma made mac 'n cheese, Jude's favorite, for lunch, and he had cake for dinner!  We are training Jude to answer the question, "how old are you?"  About 50% of the time he responds by saying "2" and the other 50% of the time he gives us a blank stare.  :)  We love our precious boy and expect good things for him this year!

Our little cuties!

This is Jude on his best big brother behavior.  Most of the times that he comes up to me, putting out his hands and saying, "hold her" it's right around the times that I'm getting ready to feed her.  Isn't that interesting timing?!

Watching Pinocchio

Yesterday we went to Yamma and Ba-Pa's house (Jude's current pronunciation of Grandma and Grandpa).  When Jude woke up from his nap, a little cranky as per usual, he went downstair to find his baby sister asleep on Ba-Pa's chest.  One of the hallmarks of Jude's behavior in this transition has been that he cannot tolerate it very well when one of his favorite grown-ups is holding the baby in lieu of him.  So, he decided to crawl up onto grandpa's lap as well and remained there to watch the end of his Pinocchio movie.  We thought it was pretty hilarious!
